So happy to be on board!

Ladies, this is so exciting! Can't wait to get to know you all through running. Don't you just love when you find others that share your passion?

So, here is the report. I went water skiing over the weekend and tried (big emphasis on tried) to slalom. I have been sore all over since Saturday. I got pummeled, but it was fun.

I did run a short 3 on Monday. Then yoga this morning, which was rough because of the sore muscles. I have a weak right hip flexor and it's been a little tweaky since I ran the Wasatch Back a couple of weekends ago. I plan to go 5 tomorrow and then as of Saturday, I will be runnin' on the beach from the 7 - 13th. Hubs and I are taking our first "parents only" vacation. Well earned, I might add. ; )

So, what are all of your short term goals? Any marathons on the horizon? I am taking '07 off for marathons. I am loving the half. A lot. Going to do the Provo half in August and don't have much planned after that. SuzieP, is that a definite that you are doing the Provo 1/2?

Again, very happy to be part of a supportive running community! Happy running to each of you this week.

p.s. I ran a 1/2 marathon (we lived in Salem for 3 years) that was at a state park between Salem and Portland. I think it started with a T, but I can't remember the name. It was a fun, trail type run. Have either of you done this mystery half marathon? : )

Hi Chelle! I am so glad you are joining us. I love hearing about other running moms! Water skiing is my other passion, so come visit and we will get you up on the slalom. One of my favorite days was running a 20 miler and then waterskiing after. Crazy, and I was so sore the next day!
I wish that 3 miles was "short" to me. I know I will get to that point. I just have to be patient. I agree with you that half marathons are a great distance. You still have to train for them, but they don't take over your life like the marathon does.
I am signed up with Suzie for the St. George Marathon in October. I have no time goal, I just hope I will be ready. I promised myself if I am not ready I will defer until next year. I just want to be ready because there is a big group of us signed up. I would love to run a marathon early next year, so let me know if you find one!
Great job on your first post! I hope you feel better soon. You have made me want to try Yoga.

Hey Kelly. We need to have a heart to heart about your love of the slalom. I have never felt so pummeled in my life! After the 13th (or was it 30th) attempt kicked my butt, I decided to save it for another day. The frustrating part is that I was getting up out of the water..... it was finding the balance on one ski that continues to elude me.

There is a teeny tiny part of me that wishes I was running St. George, but the rest of me just feels relief that I'm not. ; )

My marathon stats to this point are as follows:
SL Marthon 2005: 4:21
SL Marathon 2006: 4:15 (the goal was (and still is) sub four marathon. Like I said, the half mary is treating me right these days. And as you know, you have to WANT the marathon to commit to it. I'm giving it some time.

I'm taking a week off (except for some runnin' on the beach)-- so have a wonderful week!
