It’s OK that you’re scared of hurting yourself even more on race day, this is completely normal. However, if you focus on the fear and if you think about what you don’t want to happen, then you are increasing the chances of your fear coming true. Imagine yourself running and feeling strong on race day. Yes, you’re injured, but you can still have a great race day! Focus on being healthy and strong. You can do this! Good luck!Melanienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19163408.post-53402838771243173272010-04-13T06:57:33.027-07:002010-04-13T06:57:33.027-07:00Praying & Wishing you all the comfort you need...Praying & Wishing you all the comfort you need on Saturday Sarai! It's very possible that you'll feel well enough to run, or walk, and complete your marathon. But don't be too disappointed if you can't. You're a great runner!amydearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15261021504832220319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19163408.post-88804998642518643012010-04-12T19:32:45.942-07:002010-04-12T19:32:45.942-07:00Cal: Yes, I am signed up for SLC. I have noticed that the pain increases towards the end of the day and the least I walk around the better I feel. I'm new to dealing with injuries so I don't know when I am able to afford to push through it or not before making it worst or even permanent, which I am really scared of doing. Thanks for all your good vibes! It is always nice to know someone is routing for ya, whatever you are! Good vibes your way as well!Saraihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00205649056939168562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19163408.post-84704559936617282932010-04-12T19:17:07.943-07:002010-04-12T19:17:07.943-07:00I was training for my first full marathon and wasn...I was training for my first full marathon and wasn't able to run it so I feel you're heartache. That being said...You're race is only a week away. I don't know how bad you're injury is, but if you stay off it, and it feels better, I would sure run it! This is a tricky subject because only you ...Sarai,

This is a tricky subject because only you can gauge how serious your injury is and how willing and capable you are of running 26.2 miles in mild to severe pain. That said, I can definitely attest to being one of those runners who has gone into a marathon being injured yet still running (and finishing!) a strong race. Physical adrenaline combined with mental willpower is an amazing thing. You just have to be very careful not to cross that line of managing the pain enough to finish the race at the risk of doing permanent damage to your body.

I'm sending all the good vibes I can muster your way! Hopefully come race day you'll be healthy and ready to rumble.Tall Girl Runninghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13761665201219457247noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19163408.post-65090345367218234172010-04-12T16:01:07.719-07:002010-04-12T16:01:07.719-07:00I'm so sorry!
