Definitely keep yourself hydrated on the biking. I didn't have any water with me on one triathlon and they had no water stations on the bike. I was dying--it really slowed my time down. I also spend a lot of time practicing going from biking to running. For me that is the hardest part. My legs feel like jello when trying to run after biking!! When I did my first one someone told me to take a towel with me and put it on the ground with the rest of my stuff in the bike transition area. That has been the best thing ever. You never know what the area will be like after getting out of the pool--one time I had to run through dirt after swimming so obviously my feet were all muddy-I was able to quickly wipe them off on my towel and get my shoes on. Be sure to share any tricks/tips that you learn along the way.
