On Your Mark, Get Set, DREAM!

Before a big event I usually have vivid dreams which are a blatant (though internal) display of the level of anxiety I am feeling. I've had a few doozies before birthing babies and running marathons. With St. George only 4 days (4 DAYS?! Ahhhh!) away, the dreams have officially started. Last night the marathon included mental and physical puzzles that had to be completed before moving on in the race. They were spaced out every few miles. I'm not all that great when it comes to mental math type puzzles as it is, and my mind becomes especially foggy after I've run a couple dozen miles. I remember shouting during the dream, "At this rate, I'm never going to finish under 4 hours!" There won't be any trivia or calculus before the finish line in St. George, will there?

After finding this, my anxiety dreams will most likely incorporate chickens running. I'll keep you posted.

I am so happy to have found this blog. I started running last Feb. and ran my first half marathon this past Labor Day. I don't have anyone near me to share my running obsession with, so I'm glad to have "met" you wonderful marathon mommies! Good Luck in the St. George Marathon!

Just actually sleep the night before, and you will be alert for your math puzzles.

Can't wait to hear more dreams.

Why am I still awake?

So who, exactly, is running St. George? Suzie Petunia and m&m? I'm SOOO excited for you. Talli, who has posted a few times, is my dear friend from Michigan (she moved to CA, about 30 min away) and we still run together weekly. Anyway, she's running it too. It will be such a great run, I'm sure. What's the weather supposed to be like?

I think I mentioned my dream where I was the last person to cross the finish line. That was the only one I had, though.

Yours are much more interesting. Any chickens yet?

ang--welcome! we're glad you found us too! This is a friendly forum. I've felt welcomed and included from the first comment I posted.

Ang told me about your fun blog.... It's so great to find runners! I have heard St. George is a fabulous run. I have also heard it is a lottery to get in. Someday I will run the St. George Marathon. Good luck and enjoy every moment - puzzles and all.
