I just got my rain guard for the jogger yesterday which was perfect timing because the wind was blowing so hard the girls would have been frozen.
So my body didn't listen to one thing my mind was saying. My body sauntered through the neighborhood and my mind was racing as it usually does.
After 2.5 miles of pushing my sleigh through the wind I called it quits. The colors are so beautiful and it just felt so good to be outside. I feel like i have come a long way to go just two miles and come home and not feel like I didn't do enough and just be grateful what I did do. Since Running for me is so much more mental than physical, I am constantly amazed at what things I learn while doing it. I am looking forward to it becoming more physical then i might be able to run faster than everyone's grandma - so for now I will be happy with slow but consistent.
I can't believe i am putting a photo of my thigh on here, but had to document my need for running tights - i have not run in the winter yet so this will be interesting to see if i keep it up.

I just discovered this site and am so thrilled. I am a mother of two going in three and run for sanity. I just ran my first marathon in May (Ogden Utah). It was such an amazing expereince that I often compare it to child birth, but most poeple think I am crazy. Needless to say I am hooked and am excited to read about others who relate. My next challenge is running while pregnant. I am determined to run as long as possible! Have any of you ran during a pregnancy? I would love to hear your stories or advice. I am taking it a day at a time and doing good so far but it is challenging. If I can get past the sick stage I will be good to go, it will be a first for me.

I didn't run a step my first pregnancy, but ran until about 14 or 16 weeks with my second pregnancy. I had to give it up due to morning sickness. Running just made me feel that much worse. I was really happy to make it that far though. My distance and pace became increasingly slow and walk breaks became more frequent. The key is to listen to your body, adjust accordingly and pay attention to body temperature for the baby's sake. Otherwise, enjoy and good luck!

It is nice to have some input from others because I am really trying to listen to my body but at the same time trying not to talk myself out of running just because I am pregnant. It's such a mental game.
I am so sick right now and having a hard time with motivation. I run two or three days a week with a friend (we run at least 5 1/2 to 6 miles at a time) and then I spin and do weights on the other days, with two days off. It is getting harder and harder to keep this up but I know once I get past this sick stuff I will have a much easier time. I really want to run the Salt Lake half marathon but I am not sure how I will feel by then. I will be 6 1/2 months by then so I will be slow but I just want to do it. I guess I will just take it a day at a time. Has anyone ran a half while pregnant?
