Shoes Shoes Shoes

I need help.......again. I am in the process of trying to find a new pair of running shoes. I am over thinking it, big time. One of the problems is that the shoe I like to run in is not being made anymore. You know how they come out with a new model every year, well they changed the style and it isn't wide enough anymore. I just would feel better about getting a new pair if I knew that someone else had success with them in a marathon. I'm just totally freaked out that I might get injured and won't be able to do SLC. Thanks friends!

What were you running in and describe them. Have you gone to a running store? They should help you find the shoe most like it.

I would say try a running store. My favorite in Utah County is Runner's Corner. They help you find the shoe that is best for you and they way you run (ie. pronate, etc.). Good luck!

Check on the internet! I just found my favorite pair of Brooks on sale at their website, since that shoe is an older model.

Now I have 2 pairs of the exact same shoe, so I can alternate them to make them last a while.

I have bought four pair of my favorite Brooks that are an older model online as well. The cheapest place I found my shoe is Sierratradingpost.com You might want to look around and see if you can still buy them somewhere.

I was running in the Saucony Triumph 3. They are a neutral shoe with lots of cushion. They just came out with the 5's, hence the reason the 3's are scarce. I've checked the internet and haven't had any luck yet. I have been to two running stores, one said I pronate mildly, the other said I was neutral. I'm going to my third and final store on Friday. I told you I was overthinking it! I've become obsessed.

I just had that same problem with a New Balance shoe, but managed to find something that felt very similar in a totally different model number. You might try on several Sauconys to see if you can find something most like the Triumph 3. Good luck! Shoe worries are the worst!

The last time I needed shoes I went back to our running store just to see if there was something better out there. We had one shoe on my right foot and another kind on the left and went through the process of comparison elimination(18 pairs) untill I ended up right back in the same pair, new version, that I have been in (Saucony Guide)for 2 years now but it was a good exercise to compare them with each other to find the right one.

I liked runner's corner. They were really helpful in getting me into the right shoe without letting my stay stuck on a specific brand. Each brand makes shoes for the various gaits, so there's probably a shoe from each brand that you would like, you just need to get the right one. I also like the shoe dog on roadrunnersports.com. It matches the type of shoe to your gait, weight, and weekly mileage. Even if you don't buy the shoes from them, at least it can help you narrow down your search.
