Beware of Hot Irons!

I am aware that this post doesn't exactly make me look intelligent, but I'm hoping you can learn from my mistake. :) Good thing I can laugh at myself.

If you have ordered a marathon mommies shirt and if you are planning on ironing on your name, please do not do the following.

1. Set the iron to the hottest setting
2. Forget you turned it on and leave it for 15 minutes
3. Leave the iron on the shirt in the same spot without moving it.

Given these circumstances, you will end up with a shirt like mine.

In my defense, I did practice on another running shirt that I don't care about and things turned out fine. That shirt was black though and if I did burn that one, you couldn't see it. AND I was kind of more concerned about not letting the iron touch the marathon mommies writing because I knew it would have messed it up.

So I do think it's possible to iron on letters, just don't get the iron as hot as it will go and move it around as you iron the letters on.

It sort of looks like a giant footprint...

I thought footprint as well! I don't think I would have braved ironing my name on- I am just the type of person to melt a shirt to my iron.

Oh, that makes me a little sick inside for you!! The big question is... Will you still wear the shirt?

I cannot wait to look for the mommy with the iron burned onto her shirt on race day. You rocked my socks.

Suzie,

I'm undecided if I'm going to wear it. Just one more thing I'm stressing about! I am going to go out tonight and look for something else to wear. If I'm unsuccessful, I am going to put "with iron legs" right under my name and over the iron mark. (My cousin Sarah's idea.)

Ang-
Have you tried it on and run in place in front of a mirror? With the movement and all, you probably won't be able to see it. I doubt a spectator would even notice.

OH, I needed that little giggle. That is SO something I would do.

It reminds me of when I did that to my friend's wedding veil. No joke. Luckily it was not on the big day.. enough time to fix it. Yikes.
