What is Best for blisters?

Ouch! I got huge blisters on my feet this morning. I never realized how much my running socks help! I should have just worn the dirty ones in the hamper!

Anyway, 6 miles and 6 blisters today so what do I do? I'm not sure what the best treatment is for fast recovery.

On a side note: I had two runner's show up for my new Blackfoot Runner's Club. Yippee. Two new friends and more to come!

I know people will disagree with this method... but it always works for me. I sterilize a needle and poke a little hole on the very edge of the blister (where it meets normal, healthy skin). I drain the fluid and then put a band-aid on it. I got a huge blister last week during the marathon. I did this and by the next day I didn't notice it at all. It healed very quickly.

Amen to what Suzie said. It will feel sooooo much better once it is popped and drained. Just don't take any of the loose blister skin off.... it will take forever to heal - leave it for a natural band-aid.

HURRAY for the Blackfoot Running Club and 6 miles!!!

I do what has already been said but I hate doing it, but if you sterlize it before and after- it seems to work

SIX MILES, Erin!!? You are a rockstar. As far as preventitive actions go, try body glide on your feet - I hear it's amazing.

I got a hug blister from last weekend and drained it that day and haven't noticed it since- totally recommend it!

6 miles is so awesome! I plan to do the same tomorrow and hope it goes well. Yea for your running club!

Moleskin. I have never popped, and instead just stick it on and let nature run its course. Really, don't pop. Your body needs the puss to heal, or something like that, at least that's what my doctor says.
