Running for the hills!

I've said it before: I used to hate running and thought runners had to be out of their minds to go out there and get all sweaty and everything.

But there's just something about being a mom, and spending lots of time with little people that makes you want to run. Run far, far away. Preferably screaming.

Leaving all the stresses, demands and the endless: 'Mommy, mommy, he hit me!'
'No I didn't!
'Yes you did!
'No I didn't!'
'Yes you did!'
'No I didn't!
'Yes you did!
'No I didn't!'
'Yes you did!'
etc.

The sport of running gives you the chance to do exactly that, and isn't it a nice bonus you usually run into yourself while doing it?!

Love the feeling of running into myself. That certainly is a nice bonus!

I like how you describe it as running into yourself. I have learned so much about myself since I have become a "runner." I too used to think runners were crazy. You are a beautiful writer. I am glad you found the blog. :-)

As marathon mommies we can all relate to wanting to run away from our kids screaming :) It is a relief to know that there are other mothers out there running to keep themeselves sane! If we can keep ourselves happy and healthy by running, it can help us keep our families happy too :) It has made a difference in my life!

You mean I am not the only one!?! Love the post, I feel like each new child and each new year I get to know myself in a new light too. Hooray for running, walking, biking, the fresh air, my feet and the pavement or trail!
