Happy 4th of July!

We started out the morning perfectly with a beautiful run through some country roads. It is a tough route, but the scenery is incredible! It made me grateful for the beauty we are surrounded by and for the soldiers who fight so that we can live in this free country. Running allows me to enjoy the view and slow down for part of my day. I was a little nervous that I wouldn't be able to keep up. My longest run has been 5 miles since the marathon in May. This one was 9 and it was amazing! We had the old gang back together from last summer which made a huge difference. There were 7 of us altogether and I LOVED it. It is great being with friends. This is a fun 4th of July tradition.

The only one missing today was Suziepetunia. Her husband was in charge of her church breakfast, so she couldn't make it. I had a fantastic run with her yesterday and the day before! That has been the only downer of the triathlon training. Sometimes I have friends to train with, but a lot of the time I am on my own. It makes me appreciate my running buddies. Thanks to all of you!!

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!

Ooh, I'm envious. No one to run with here yet. Glad you enjoyed your fun run with friends. Hope the tri training goes well!

What a cool tradition- it sounds beautiful! I keep thinking I need to do something like that for some of the bigger holidays.

Back when I taught kickboxing we used to do a Thanksgiving morning workout where you could bring your friends and family. We would burn a ton of calories and it felt good to have a holiday tradition like that where the workout was so fun and not about form or reps. Good times.
