My Provo Canyon Half Marathon Report

I didn't do it.

Oopsies. Sorry to the girls I had told I would do it. HOWEVER, I have a good reason. After I ran the SLC marathon, my younger sister decided to run a marathon, the Pocotello marathon to be exact, and that race is three weeks away. That meant that her 20 mile run was yesterday and yes, she conned me into doing it with her! Can I just mention that after I ran SLC I pretty much took two months off and then have had about two months of trying to get into a regular running routine. Prior to yesterday, the farthest I had run was 10 miles. Needless to say, the 20 mile run was VERY VERY difficult, but I'm so glad I was able to be there for her. Now, she thinks because I ran 20 miles with her, I should be able to run the marathon with her too. Oh, dear. I told her NO NO NO NO NO! We'll see who wins this argument. :)

Sorry to be flaky on the race I posted about trying to get people to run with me a couple months ago. I'll do better in the future, or at least give some notice that I'm not doing it. You have to remember that I just moved to Utah Aug. 1st. I've been a little busy. :)

Happy running. And if you're in Utah, lets get together!

Oh, how did the race go for those of you who did run it??

P.S. We ran towards the canyon and saw some people finishing. I cheered them all on. Then we turned around and ran out to Utah lake where there were lots of people running as they finished the Utah Half Iron Man triathlon!! Talk about inspiring! I cheered them on too, the best I could at least. I was pretty exhausted by that point!

I can't believe you just up and ran a 20 miler, you rock! How fun that you will be able to run with the Utah girls. I hope everything is going well for you!

So what you're saying is you did an ULTRA half marathon! :) It was nice of you to support your sister like that. Running a 20-miler solo can really be a bummer. I guess we can forgive you for skipping out on a race... this time. :)

Way to go! To pull out a 20 miler at any given time is amazing. I also saw the 1/2 marathon runners while I was running my 15 miler in training for the St. George. I wish I could have seen the others at Utah Lake!

I live in Utah county so if you ever want to get people together, I'm in!
