I watched it and loved it. Would also love to have a body like those women!! Just curious..what were the small things they pulled from their shorts and ate (the reporter said "carbo's" but just curious what type of things that were that small they were eating to help them out. Great race. Very motivating
Very motivating! I sat on the sofa watching and was inspired to go for a little run myself. A great finish for the Romanian woman, but I still cheer like crazy for Paula Radcliffe. I was more excited for her to finish after Athens 2004...
Constantina Tomescu-Dita was an incredible sight to see last night. I can't believe she won! Her form at the end was horrible but somehow that didn't matter in her case. Seriously ladies, how do people run at that pace...2:26, unbelievable!
I missed the first part of the marathon so maybe I missed it but where was the coverage of the americans? I was disapointed they didn't even say a thing about them (from the time that I started watching). I would have liked to see them finish.
I had tears in my eyes watching the end of the race. You could just see how much pain the ladies were in, but there was no stopping them! I couldn't believe they kept running laps around the stadium at the end...talk about a runner's high!!!
I watched from the beginning. I just about cried when I saw Deena Kastor go off to the side. Now know that she broke a bone in her foot. The other usa team mate, I don't remember her name but I know it wasn't Magdalena, was out in front for a spell in the beginning. It was quite amazing when Constantina took off and just kept ahead. I too would like to know what kind of carb thing she was taking. To wear what she wore and it to be that small that she could carry it in her suit yet give her energy. I would love something that small.
Did anyone see the little blurb they did about one of the Chinese runners? I missed the beginning part of it but apparently she excelled in some sport and they found a cyst in her hip joint (I think it was her hip joint or some part of her leg). They performed surgery but told her she was through doing what she had done. She came back and became a long distance runner. She runs around 736 miles a month! It's the story behind the olympic stories that I find so interesting.

That race was amazing! I love all of the background stories too. Those runners were incredible.
I'm loving the olympics.
