Significant Wind-chill

The best part about running in the cold is when your bum gets so cold you can't feel it jiggle anymore. It feels pretty good to have a tight tush even if it is just because it's numb.

What are your favorite winter running pants? Apparently I need a warmer pair. Preferably some that that don't remind me (and anyone I run past) with every stride that my thighs are rubbing together. Ideas?

Hi, I just found this blog and love it. I'm addicted. Hope everyone doesn't mind me just jumping in and acting like I'm at home here.
I have been buying Mens runing pants. Nike, Seems like girls running parts are all to tight and never lined for cold running. Try the men section.

That is funny!

I have used Race Ready pants. I don't know if I absolutely love them though. Let me know what you find in your search.

Oh boy! I love my Addidas tights. So much so that I wash them every night and hang them over the heater vent so they will be dry for the next days run...I run in them every day. They are unforgiving though...you can always wear them under some nice tight-ankle running pants. My fav are some fleece (kind of)Nike running pants. And they are mens, Megan was right.

You really need to try on the tights to see what works for you. I have some Brooks long full-length tights that are not very stretchy but the Addidas are great! they hold the jiggles in and keep the right muscles warm and tight.

Good luck and stay warm!

I liked to layer my tights with a yoga-style tech pant over it. Tuck your tights into your socks to avoid any rain or snow or puddles soaking your ankles. I love the warmth of running tights, but not the tight look of them. And after long runs in 10 degree weather, the ice bath is KILLER. I was cold for the rest of the day.

Being from Alaska, I like Koch Pants, otherwise known as Sporthill pants. They are warm enough (down to -30) but also wick moisture and don't make you feel like you are running in nothing....they are a little bit pricy, but worth it.

I love my Nike winter pants. They're tight, and have kind of a warm fleece fuzz inside. I got mine at Nordstrom Rack, but I've seen them at Sports Authority too. LOVE winter running.

I agree with Charity- My winter pants are by Sporthill which is a great brand. They sell them by varying degree ratings so that you can get the ones perfect for your climate. Then you don't have to layer!
