All warmed up to it?

Ater a long winter break, I have been dragging on the issue of getting back to training. I can remember doing the same thing last year, so I guess this is my pattern. Talking about it for a couple of weeks, then slowly but surely, running once a week for a couple more weeks, until it finally hits! I think I have made it past that point and I'm finally all warmed up to it (cross my fingers). I had been playing with the options of getting a gym membership or buying a treadmill, both way out of my budget right now, and it would be really silly to do it when I can get my running done the traditional way, at least traditional for me, for FREE! in the smoggy streets of Salt Lake City with my most loyal running buddy, Tank-man the German Shepperd. I say most loyal because even my other 2 little team members (my babies) are not always so willing and enthusiastic as Tank is, and I don't blame them who wants to be stuck in the stroller looking at the same scenario over and over again, in 25 F degree weather. So for my two little one's sake and my own I am trying something new that I'm gonna like and get use to (I'm not so fond of my new routine just yet):Waking up at 6 am to go running with Tank, no babies.
I did it twice this week and it has worked perfectly, a little scary when it's still so dark in the morning, but I figure in a month's time there should be plenty of light that early in the morning and I will have form a new habit.

I can do it, I can do it, I do have it in me. That's what I keep telling myself :)

Happy running!

You might consider looking on Craigslist or KSL in Salt Lake City for a inexpensive, used treadmill. Lots of them are sitting around collecting dust but are perfectly functional! I prefer to run outside as well, but the treadmill has been an invaluable piece of equipment for days when I can't run outdoors or just don't feel like it.

Good luck getting back into the swing of things!
