The Day After the Marathon

I am more of a lurker here than a poster. I am new to running and am still gaining my running experience, so I learn a lot from you guys but don't have a whole lot to offer at the moment. I saw this video and just had to share it with people who would appreciate it. You may have seen it, but if not, be sure to take a look. It is pretty funny. I haven't actually run a marathon, though I've heard lots of stories about it. I'm currently training for my first 1/2 marathon, and I'm hoping I don't feel this bad after it's over.

Ha,ha! That final scene made me laugh and cringe at the same time. I'm so thankful for sports bras!

So true, so true. I've become rather proficient at walking down stairs backwards in the days after a marathon.

Thanks for the laugh!

Pretty funny! Like Molly mentioned, the final scene made me laugh out loud! I always cringe when I see the males finish with blood stained shirts!! That may be worse than anything else!

Thanks for sharing! So true, our hearts love us! :)

So funny, but only because I know this pain. A good massage post-race does wonders!

My husband finished the Portland Marathon with chafed nipples. Ouch! Such a terrible sight...

LOL. I liked it, funny stuff! I'm also training for my firs half coming up in April. Good luck to us both!

I'll never forget trying to walk down the little 2 step staircase into my garage and my knee completely giving out and me falling! It was hilarious. But it hurt to laugh! Oh that was a great pain to have, though! I look forward to it again this year.

I love it as I can relate! However, I have become acquainted with the foam roller since my last marathon and it is amazing for sore muscles!!! I used it after Hood To Coast and was thrilled at how much it lessened soreness as well as tightness.
