Hippie Chick Half? Pregnancy band?

Is anyone doing the Hippie Chick Half on May 9th?  I will be there 30 weeks pregnant, I am sure that you won't be able to miss me.  I usually run through most of my pregnancy but was wondering if any of you have gotten a support band for your belly?  I have not gotten one before but think that I might want to try one.  Any suggestions?

I used one with my last pregnance. It really does help minimize the pain of those ligaments stretching. I would recommend it- especially for that distance.

I had a belly band while I was pregnant and it didn't seem to do much. Make sure you find a good, sturdy one. I think that the one I had was more for fashion (to hide the fact that your jeans aren't buttoned)...I actually resorted to an ace bandage!

I'm doing the Hippie Chick with Kelly, and we can't wait. I had a support band when i was pregnant with my first, and it helped a ton with back pain. It was a band that went up over your shoulders and crossed behind your back (I know, I was huge). I didn't run at the time, but I definately would have used it if I did. Sorry I can't be more of a help.

I tried to get in, but my credit card wouldn't go through and then it was full! You're going to have a great time, but I can't imagine running a half marathon 30 weeks pregnant. I think you'd need some sort of belly support for sure. I used a very simple velco band from Motherhood and it worked well. But I stopped running at 25 weeks.

Wow-I am so amazed at all of the runners who are able to run when they are pregnant. With my last two pregnancies I was put on bed rest at 25 weeks and wasn't even allowed to walk up stairs :( So obviously I have no advice about running while that pregnant (I'm just jealous)-but I did have to use a really good support band to even go to the doctors office and it seemed to help-so maybe that would help with running too :)

I, too, am one of the unlucky ones who can't run through their pregnancy- so no advice there. :-) But, I am very excited to see you at the Hippie Chick! (And next year, hopefully I will be joining you at Boston...a girl can dream right?!) I am running it with Kristyn, as she mentioned, and it is going to be a blast! It's a fantastic race.
