Bear Lake 1/2 Marathon

I'm a little slow to getting around to post but I figured I still would since I LOVE reading everyone else's resports...

I did the Bear Lake 1/2 marathon a week ago. I was a bit nervous because I trained for it in Phoenix, so I was worried about the altitude, but it didn't seem to bother me too much. I was definitely cold as I think when we started it was about 55 degrees and when I left Phoenix it was around 100. It was rainy and windy for some of the course, but not that much, so I was really grateful for that. I really liked the course and other than some poor management issues with the race, it was a great run.

This was the first race in a long time that I got to do with people I knew. My sister and brother met me from Idaho and California to do this one with me. It was a lot of fun to do it with them. I never do races with a watch (I know, so old school) so I never know what my time is going to be when I cross the finish line. So, I was excited when I crossed in 2 hours and 1 minute (though I was pretty bummed that I was so close to breaking the 2 hour mark, but that'll just be my goal for the next 1/2) as that was a definite PR for me (I'm a slower runner). Since it was a small race (only about 350 people did the 1/2 marathon), I placed 8th in my age division. All in all, it was a really fun weekend!

I've been told I look sexier with my eyes closed...

We finished!

Apparently, this is how I REALLY felt about the race.
