Jogging Strollers: A Question

We received a question from "Chicklet" about jogging strollers:

I know last year you posted a question on this, but I'm wondering if anybody's opinions have changed, or anybody's bought a stroller recently that they love. I'm 5 months pregnant and debating between the Bob and the Chariot. The problem is both get great reviews everywhere, but I don't know that these reviews come from real runners or just people who take a casual jog/walk once in awhile? I'd like real runners' opinions? I lean towards the Chariot as it has all the features I want, but the size of it really freaks me out that I'll grow to hate my decision as it'll always be too hard to deal with (storage, getting in/out the house/car). I don't however want to buy a halfass jogging stroller that's not REALLY a jogger, and then end up hating that it doesn't run well when the Chariot would have? Thank you.

I'm a REAL runner, lol, and I LOVE our BOB. I have the duallie Ironman, with the carseat adapter, and I ADORE it! I've used other jog strollers in the past and I just can't rave enough about how fabulous our BOB is. *BUT* if you are a cyclist too, I'd probably go with the Chariot. I have friends who have the Chariot and love it just as much as I love my BOB, and the Chariot converts to a bike trailer (among other things, I believe). Both are very highly rated strollers!

I have a Bob as well, first the single ironman and now that we have 2 kids, the double revolution. I couldn't live without it! We put our 2 month old in it(snuggled with blanket, etc without the carseat adaptor and it worked great.

I am definitely a runner rather than a biker, but we have friend that use the Chariot for running and biking. I would go with the Bob for a few reasons:
You have to take wheels off the Chariot to transport it in a car, etc, which is kind of a pain. Also, I think the Chariot is a lot harder to push than a Bob. Also, you really can't use the Chariot until your Baby can sit up well. If you are more of a runner, get the Bob! Of course, if you mostly bike and rarely run, get the Chariot. Good luck and congrats on your new baby!

I love my single BOB Ironman. I run pretty seriously and the BOB is the stroller for me. It has such a smooth ride and folds down so nicely. I bought the car seat adapter for our first baby and used it, but then for our second baby I just used it without the adaptor, with lots of blankets and reclined, once she was about 2 months old. (I used it on very smooth terrain as well)
When they were older I took it on trails and had a good time too.

I also bought an early model BOB duallie. I hate it. But that's because it was pretty much the first stroller they ever made and it has improved a lot since then.

Now I'm getting into triathlons and kind of wish I had the double chariot, but I haven't read any reviews by *real* runners about the chariot (and it's so expensive for all the conversion kits and stuff). Besides a smooth ride and good shocks, the BOB has the best canopy! I'm curious as to how the chariot blocks the sun, because that is a major factor for my kids.

Also, while the BOB was a great get-back-in-shape stroller when I couldn't get away from the kids, now that they're older (and heavier) I try to workout without them as much as possible.
Goodness. How's that for a novel?

I also love my BOB. I have a double and it pushes nice with one or two kids in it. I got mine used on KSL.com (If you are located along the Wasatch Front) My father has a Schwinn that converts from a stroller to a bike trailer and my kids love it. It has huge tires and rides very smoothly.

I was the one who most recently asked about this on the blog...and after all the suggestions I decided to go with the BOB Ironman duallie. I love it! It's so smooth and feels like it pushes itself! I went with the Ironman because I liked the thinner tires because I do more road running. I have heard the Chariots are nice if you want to use them for other sports besides running.
