Let's Get Personal....

I know this may be TMI, but I am looking for some underwear to wear running that will not get so soaked with sweat.  Has anybody found some kind of wicking underwear that works well for them?  I run in cotton right now (and I don't love it) but I am worried cotton might chaffe a little on a marathon. :0)  Any advice would be great.  Thanks!

Many running shorts and spandex are designed to go comando.. I never wear underwear...I know TMI but having one less layer helps avoid chaffing.

I recommend finding a pair of good running shorts, skirt or spandex and try it free of underwear..

GOOD LUCK :)

I remember being surprised to find out that people actually wore something other than just running shorts with a liner. The thought had never occurred to me. I just figured that's what the liner was for.

I prefer commando too. But I know people who run in panties. But they just run in their everyday panties.

From my perspective, wearing underwear with running shorts, skirts, or tights is like wearing underwear with a swimsuit.

I really liked my Underarmor spandex that I wore underneath my running shorts. Hardly any chaffing during my training or marathon. A little vaseline in possible problem spots before the race helped too.

I do have some running shorts and skirts that have the built in liner or panty or whatever you want to call it, but I don't ever wear them. I have yet to gain the confidence to wear them. I prefer to run in capris right now. A pic of me in my shorts at Wasatch back was enough to put them back in the drawer until I lose another 10 or 15 pounds. :) I will have to look into some. Maybe they come with liners too?

I only use shorts or pants that have the build in underwear. I don't know what it's called, but it's comfy, and doesn't chaffe at all.

I found some Asics Dri Fit underwear at a local running store here. However I know my running underclothes need replacing this winter, so am going to get all new bras. Haven't decided on the bottoms yet. I just feel so naked without something on.

I bought some wicking underwear from Title 9. Just their house brand.

wow! I didn't even know you could do that! (go commando) No wonder I have been so uncomfortable wearing my shorts with the liners plus my cotton undies. I will have to try it!

I really didn't want to wear just the shorts with liners but it makes life SO much easier! It will feel wierd at first though. I do wear undies with my tights/leggings, get the really light kind (second skin stuff). Mine are from Victoria's Secret and they are good. Remeber, cotton is bad for running!

I have to wear a pad running after two 10 lb babies (sorry for TMI), so I feel like I need to wear panties in addition to whatever lining is in the shorts/pants. I swear by Victoria's Secret Body by Victoria. They don't ride and I have never chafed.
