Am I Crazy?

What do you think...

I have been running for three years. I did a half and a full marathon the end of 2008 then had a baby in 2009. I have been running since baby was born, but never more than 6 miles. I just found a half marathon that sounds gorgeous and so fun, but it is in three weeks!
What do you think- honestly- do you think I could eek it out or would I be better off skipping it? I was thinking I could do an 8 mile, 9 mile, and 10 mile training run before then... but that may be too much to fast.
What do you say?

I'm the wrong person to ask but my advice is to listen to your body.

And also, if you look at rookiemarathon.com you could take one of their schedules and tweak it a bit (because they don't start out with 6 mile runs). I think it's possible...but what do I know? :)

remember there is NOTHING wrong with walking!
You can walk-run it I bet no problem.
Its about having fun and enjoying yourself!

I say get a 8 or 9 miler in and then allow yourself the freedom to walk and soak it all in! :)

Its not how fast you go.. just that you go :)

Of course you can do it! Especially if you tell yourself that taking one or two walk breaks wouldn't be the end of the world.

I think others have written the same thing. :)

Go and have fun! You'll be so glad you did.

I think it's very doable with the walking breaks... but don't wait to do the breaks until mile eight or nine. Do them systematically from the very start (one minute walk per mile, for example) so you'll still have energy to spare to finish the full 13.1 miles.

Good luck!

Sorry to be the pessimistic one. I would look for something a little farther ahead. You would have a more enjoyable experience if you get the training in, and I'm saying this for experiencing both scenarios, being prepared and not. Good luck!

You can do it! You are half way there. Listen to your body, if you're tired then rest, don't push it. I am training for a half marathon in Sept. I run every other day between 2-4 miles with one long run a day.

correction--that's one long run a week (not a day)--lack of sleep sorry:)Up late with a sick toddler.

I know this if off topic but I'm looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is needed to get setup? I'm assuming having a blog like yours would
cost a pretty penny? I'm not very internet smart so I'm not 100% sure. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have been browsing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting
article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for
me. In my view, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the web will
be much more useful than ever before.
