An inline double jogger? Or am I just dreaming?

My second child is set to arrive in early August (although I wouldn't complain if he decided a July birth suited him better). In preparation, my husband and I recently purchased a Chariot jogging stroller/bike trailer. I love it...in theory. However, getting that thing in my small, 1950s home is a challenge! It can't leave the front room given its width. And I am not down with a jogging stroller permanently set up in my front room. (No garage and a very humid climate means no leaving this outside.)

I am guessing this is not just a problem with Chariot; rather, it's a problem with all double strollers. So my question for everyone is, have you ever seen a double jogging stroller that is more "inline" rather than side-by-side? You know, sort of like the fancy Phil & Ted strollers, but ones for running?

No advice, just commiseration, as a mom to twins, i know the pain of the double stroller! I use a chariot style for running, but keep it with all the other gear in the garage.

I have the Gozo 1x2 tandem jogger. I don't know if the company is still in business though. I only had one seat attached, so I used it as a single stroller, but it was designed for a second seat, tandem style, if needed. I don't have any experience on how it handles with two seats attached, but with just one, I found it easy to run with -- but not as easy as running withOUT a stroller, of course. My kids who rode in it seemed to really like it. They got to be more out in the open and involved in the run rather than tucked way back and in the bottom of some of the other joggers. The downside is that it doesn't collapse and won't fit in the trunk of every vehicle. But it sure is more manageable than the Trek Doodlebug that I've used -- a smooth ride but a bulky chariot. Maybe you can pick up a Gozo second-hand.

I've had alot of success with my Phil and Teds for mid range runs. I run about a 8:30 mile and used to taken my 2 oldest (about 65lbs combined weight) in it up to 10 miles in double mode. I think it may have shortened my stride a little, but the convenience of the single footprint is great. Also, it's nice as my older kids have started school and I can just take the baby in single mode.

I have a Phil and Teds sport buggy as well- I think it's fine for runs. I'd still rather run without it, but I've run with several other double joggers and it is just as good. Good luck!
