Mid-Week Long Run

One of my favorite things about training for a marathon is the mid-week medium long run. I love accomplishing more miles before the rest of the family wakes up. Today was especially invigorating because it was snowing and windy and I still felt great! Running with a friend makes all the difference.

How about you? What are some of your favorite runs during a training cycle?

Total- 8.4 miles

Saturday typically ends up being my long run day. I love to go outside (weather permitting) and push myself to do 10 miles. FABULOUS!

I also love the mid-week longer run. I'm flirted with it in the past but time constraints didn't allow for it on a regular basis. This time around, however, I'm running 10 miles every Wednesday - in addition to the other runs. I think it is making all the difference.

Also key to this run for me is that I do it alone and I make it a tempo run. It's not easy but it sure feels great when I'm finished!
