St George- here we come!

I have run St. George twice- the first time was in 2007 about 4 1/2 months after having my third baby. We went with a big group and there was no pressure and I was just happy to finish and happened to PR by 30 minutes. Not too shabby. :-)

2nd St George was in 2010. We went with a big group again and this time I was trained to qualify for Boston (or so I thought!). Unfortunately the weather was about 20 degrees warmer than it was in '07 and my body could not keep up the pace. I was extremely disappointed and took a break from marathons. (This was my 8th marathon!).  Decided instead to try for a baby. I got pregnant, but miscarried in January of this year. A week after the miscarriage, I signed up for the Newport Marathon. I knew I needed something to get me motivated to lose weight and to keep my mind off my disappointment. So, here I am, 3 weeks away from a marathon and I just signed up for another one. Am I crazy or what?! I never thought I would do St George again, but peer pressure, (and remembering that it really is a great marathon!) sucked me in!

I am excited to do this one with a group this year, especially since Suziepetunia will be joining us from Texas and my sweet husband suprised me and signed up and it will be his first marathon.

So, who else is with us?

I was telling my friend Stephanie about you and a few minutes later you came breezing past us. She said, "Didn't you say she was injured?!" I said, yep, she's amazing!! I am sorry you didn't get into St. George, but I am sure you will find another one! You will do great at Windermere and/or Utah. :-) Can't wait to hear your results. Nice job on the half. It was a warm day.

It's been forever since I've checked this site...ever since I fell off the marathon training wagon. Glad to see that you still post Kel. St. George is going to be great. Can't wait. I need to do a post here soon and share how we met on this site only to coincidentally move to the same city and become good friends. To come...

Annie- this is your fault for getting the idea in my head. :-) I am so glad you are running it and that I decided to follow you! It has been great running with you and getting to know you better. I am so glad I met you through this site! I would love to hear your version. :-)
