Yesterday I had to force myself to go biking and running. I couldn't seem to get in a groove on the bike. I thought maybe I could make up some time on my run, but again I found myself dragging. I realized how bad I really was dragging when I just about fell on my face after tripping over a bump in the street. I was literally not picking up my feet very high as I was attempting to run. This morning I woke up determined to get out the funk I was in yesterday. I was going to bike for 45 minutes. Things were going great, I was going at a great pace and knew I was going to do more miles in 45 minutes than I had last week. I turned down a street that was full of construction. I was a little uneasy riding on the street because cars did not have much room to get around me. I saw a break in the cones where I could get off the street and onto the sidewalk. I saw a lip between the street and the sidewalk but thought I could get my bike over it. unfortunately, I was wrong. Really wrong. I crashed and burned big time. It probably wouldn't have been that bad except that I was wearing my clips which allow me to attach my shoes into the pedals to go faster. When I fell, (by the way I didn't slow down to go over the little bump) I didn't have time to unclip my shoes so not only did I fall but I dragged by bike with me as I skidded acorss the street. Now I am all scraped up and am wondering if this is a sign of things to come when I do my triathlon next week.
Does anyone else have days out there where you just can't seem to get it together on your workouts?
