Open Invitation

Many of the Marathon Mommies will be running a combined total of 97 miles this Saturday to honor and remember the life of Gordon B. Hinckley. If you are interested in adding to our total, just leave a comment below. Maybe instead of 97 combined miles we could get 97 people out and running to honor this great man. It doesn't matter if you want to run 1 mile or 97 all by yourself! Somewhere in the world at least 96 other people will be out there running for the same reason. We'd love to know if you will be joining us.

Edited to add: The official signup post is here! Please add your name to those comments. Can't wait to hear who's joining us!

I just spent the last hour and a half becoming more inspired than ever reading this particular blog....marathon mommies...here I am in alaska, without a running partner (mine moved away)...lets just say it was nice to read about all the joys, challenges, successes and failures of all of you. Thanks....I WILL be running for President Hinckley...count me in for 6 miles...run your hearts out...

I'm in for 6, with a possible two other people for 6 each.

So, I am totally not a runner, but I will be on Saturday. Probably only one. I know that sounds lame and like nothing compared to all you marathon mommies, but it's something. I'll go farther if I can!

It's hard sometimes to fit a good run in in the winter here, we just started gaining daylight last month, but the sun still doesn't come up until about 10 and it's down again by 4. That's not the challenge, the challenge is that there's no sidewalks, the skiers HATE footprints on the trails and when it's below zero (which is frequently) running outside is TERRIBLE...so as a result, the treadmill becomes your friend, except on hill days when I try to hit up the high school or a neighborhood...if I'm desperate to run outside, I layer REALLY well...I should have stock in REI...and wear lot's of reflective tape so I don't get hit..

I just posted a link and invited all who reads my blog to run. I have linked them here as well as to erin's personal addy that she gave to send pictures etc. I am so excited. I am doing a double on Saturday but my thoughts will be with all of you on Saturday. I am going to put my miles in on friday. I know it won't count but I will still be a part of this wonderful sisterhood that is joined through this run for our prophet. What a great idea!

Hey Chrys,

Of course your miles on Friday will count! The point is to get as many people as possible running for the prophet! Thanks for spreading the word!
