Upcoming Races

I like the upcoming races tab on the blog. It's great to see on the main page what races everyone is doing so that we can cheer each other on. My question is can we put other races up there as well like a triathlon. If so sign me up. I'm doing the Hawthorne Farms Sprint Triathlon in May and the Burley Spudman in July. I know that Smith is doing Spudman as well. Anybody else ever tried a tri? Does anybody have the desire to try one? Come my fellow Oregon runners and join me for the Hawthorne Farms tri.

The Spudman is the best race ever! I have never done it, but I always go and watch! I really want to do it but never get registered in time. When did you register?

I don't know if you heard about this years registration or not but it sold out in 11 minutes. I was fortunate enough to be at my computer right when it opened and got in. About 3 minutes later my husband called me and said he changed his mind and wanted to do it again this year. By that time it had sold out and he missed out. On another note Sarah maybe we could provide some sort of link to these designer moms? I don't know much about computers is it possible?

I did the running leg of the Blue Mountain to Canyonlands Triathlon a few years ago. It was my first 10K. The other legs are a 4 mile skate-ski and a 36 mile bike. It is the most incredible triathlon. The run goes through Canyonlands, right past Newspaper Rock. You Utah gals should do it. It's really low key. My cuz and I got 2nd in all-female teams, because there were only 4. It's usually in the first weekend of March. I think they also have a 1/2 marathon the week before.

I'm doing the Indy Mini-Marathon in May. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

I would love to do a Tri sometime. I feel like I'm still trying to master the running thing. Once I do I'll have to learn how to swim... Will you teach me, foxy? :) Oh, and I also have to buy a super expensive bike. Tri's can get a little pricey... don't you think?

I admire all of you triathloners. (not really a word is it?) I think about it all the time, but I don't have a bike, or some kind of wetsuit either. I'm still working on getting all the running gear I want! Someday I really think I will do a sprint triathlon. You go girls!

Aren't the designer jeans girls fun! I think it's a great plan to reward yourself with a designer pair of jeans. I've always wanted a pair!

I'm doing the Canyonlands Half on March 8th in Moab, Utah. Is that the same weekend as the tri? I'm not sure I'm tough enough to swim and bike with a long, long run..... maybe someday.

Yea! I am so excited there are some other Tri Mommies out there! I have done a few tri's and am doing my next one on May 3rd. I am doing the Rocky Point, Mexico Tri. I am a little nervous to swim in the ocean though. Has anyone else done a tri in the ocean? How did you train for it?

Seanandjess I have never done a swim in the ocean. I do go to a good website that has a nice question forum that if you ask tri questions you will get much advice. The website is Ontri.com. It is great you can log your workouts their too.
