Running Shorts

I bought new running shorts to wear in Salt Lake today (good idea?) and I must say I have never seen shorts like them. I have never owned real "running" shorts before so I don't know if this is normal, but they had built in underwear. My question is this... is that the only underwear you are supposed to wear? I think I would feel a little "free" if you know what I mean. I am very confused! Thanks!

I'm pretty sure the intent is that you don't need to wear another pair of underwear. But I've never brought myself to be able to go without. :) We'll "support" you, no matter what you decide. ;)

I'm with SuzieP, I'm sure the intent is to go sans undies, but I still wear my own.

And that is all that I am going to say about my undies on the internet. ; )

I have this type of running short as well- I wear them 'as is'. Never even thought of adding undies!

I guess that means I have been going "commando." Every time I tried putting on another layer of undies :), I deal with riding issues - no thanks.

Well, you learn something new about your running partners every day. Sorry to tell you, Suzie P., but I go au naturel! Hee, hee! I love these kind of shorts, no chafing!! Let us know what you decide, or don't let us know, ha ha!

I guess in this situation I fall into the "less is more" category if you know what I mean! :)

Good question! I always wondered what others did.
