Women's Olympic Trials

One of the great things we were able to do in Boston is watch the Women's Olympic Trials on Sunday morning. This was such an awesome race. It took place just outside of our hotel. We were very lucky where we stayed was at the finish line of both the trials and the Boston marathon. The race started at 8am and they did four laps on the city streets of Boston. They would run down one street and then up another street so we would run from one block to the other so that we could see them in both directions. Magdelena Lewy Boulet was in the lead for the entire race until the third lap. She was ahead by 2 minutes. It was fun to see Deena Kastor make her move. As she came past on one street we timed her and she was 1:50 behind Magdelena and by the time she was on the other street she had cut the distance to 1:30. When they came around the last corner to the finish line Deena was quite a ways ahead. She won by :40 seconds. It was pretty exciting. Deena was so close we could have reached out and touched her. She came by and grabbed someones flag and slapped a few hands on her way to the finish.
