My Ogden Marathon Relay race report!

Today was a beautiful day! I talked two of my friends into running the relay with me. So Andrea ran the first 7 miles, then I ran legs two and three (11.8 miles), and Emily ran the last two legs (7.4). It was beautiful scenery. Definitely my hottest run of the year, but I think it was a good prep for the Wasatch Back Relay coming up next month. Plus dumping a cup of water on the hair and drinking a cup of water does wonders for me. Anyways I loved it. It was great! Oh did I mention...there was NO WIND!!!!!!! YYYEEAAAHHH! The aid stations had: bananas, oranges, water, powerade, gu's, jolly ranchers, licorice, gummy bears. The ending had little Jamba juices and Creamies and fruit and a slice of yummy Great Harvest Bread. Can I just say, that after running a marathon a month ago, it was pretty fun to run just under 12 miles. I did pretty good in my time to. I ran it in 1 hour and 46 minutes and 5 seconds. Mostly I enjoyed talking to the other runners and the beautiful scenery and watching the finish line. I was so inspired by everyone who finished their journey! Did I mention Jeff Galloway was there and I ran by him for a minute, so I feel pretty cool, because I trained with one of his training plans before. It was his 139th marathon. WOW! So I hope all of you other racers today had a good run! Happy Trails.
*Just so you know I am a little jealous of all you mommies that made it in to St. George. Maybe next year I will have the luck of the draw!

Congrats on a great relay! I agree with you about the excitement of no wind! A windy day can be pure torture! That is neat that the aids stations were well managed. I would have appreciated a smoothie and creamy at the end of our race. Yummy! We had water, cookies, apples and a baked potatoe :) I think we are a little crazy here in Idaho, A potato didn't sound good for after a race. It's all good ;)

Mmmm... Jamba Juice... I stopped drinking those when I saw how many calories are in one, but after an 11+ mile effort, you certainly deserved one! Congratulations to you and your girlfriends for a great relay. :)

Annie Banannie!! Yay for you!! I think you would be such a fun person to run a relay with. What lucky friends you have! Your run sounds perfect. I love a good 10-11 mile run. You are awesome! I am sorry about St. George. Maybe you should hook up with those training for the Top of Utah.
