Memories of a Marathon

So after you run what do you save? What do you keep and what do you throw away? Do you frame your medal or throw it in a drawer? Do you wear your t-shirts or make a quilt? Do you ever order the photos taken on the side of the road?

I am a sentimental fool. Running for me is all about making memories and enjoying life. But recently realized I don't want to keep 50 shoes in my garage just because they are the ones I ran each race in. So here is my shameless plug for my new blog and a clever idea of what to do to remember each of your races.

I am off to attempt marathon number 3 tomorrow morning!!! Richmond VA!

that is a dang cool idea--thanks! i have my slap bracelet fom the relay, but other than the t-shirts (which have become a quilt http://grandpreghetto.blogspot.com/2007/10/t-shirt-quilt.html) that's all i keep. oh wait, my race numbers all get the name of the race, the date, and my time printed on the back and then put in a scrapbook.

That is pretty cool. I'll have to try it this time around. My medals sit in a box bc I'm not comfortable displaying them. This footprint is a cool thing for scrapbooks and personal offices etc. Thanks!

P.S. Good luck on the Richmond Marathon. I was going to run that one last year until I found out about Baltimores. I opted for the Baltimore Half and loved it. At the time I was living in Silver Spring and thought I could just show up the day of the race...bad assumption...I was supposed to register the day before. Luckily they had compassion on me and let me run anyway. Anyway, here, here for Saturday races in MD and VA!
