Anyone else cry durning Biggest Loser? (Warning- spoiler!)

Or I am the only extra emotional one? I cried watching each contestant cross that finish line. Knowing the amount of mental, physical, and emotional effort that goes into training brings me to tears every time. Achieving a goal that you wonder if you can even do is such an amazing feat. I love watching these contestants change their lives, a step at a time. It is so inspiring!!

(And while we're at it, what did everyone think about Dane who was shown crossing the finish line of a marathon in 3:53, and later admitted being driven 3 miles of it and actually finishing in 5:53? I personally feel bad for him that he was pressured into lying about it. No one would have thought less of him for NOT finishing the marathon in the time limit.)

I was a bit teary eyed during that episode. Although... let's just clear one thing up - stop calling 13.1 miles a marathon. It's an accomplishment for sure, but it's no marathon.

I haven't ever watched the biggest loser...so I'm not sure how it ended...but I had heard about the guy who didn't finish the Arizona Marathon. My sister (who also ran that same marathon) and I were talking about it and both felt like we would of had complete admiration of him finishing the marathon in whatever time it took him-even over 6 hours-finishing is finishing...but to have it mis-represented is really sad.

I'm totally addicted to that show and BOTH instances you mentioned struck a chord with me. I was very moved during the race portion last night. And I remember when they showed Dane crossing the finish line at 3:53 or whatever, thinking WHAT? I mean, knowing how hard I trained for my first, I came nowhere near that time and looked like h3ll to boot! But what an accomplishment for him to do it at all. I feel badly for him that the producers pushed him to stop, hitch a ride and get over the line when he did just for the sake of the show. I'm with Cal, just finishing in whatever time is great!

You know I watched! I was very proud of them, but also glad they didn't blow my time away. Hee hee! And I knew something was up in that episode with Dane. He was going way too slow and looked way too good.

I was emotional watching that episode too! (I thought it was just my pregnancy hormones, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one. :) There is something so empowering in running and accomplishing a race...and I love seeing the contestants discover how AMAZing it feels to push your physical self to its limits.

I agree with you all about Dane's "marathon" experience. I read that they gave him a ride because he was going so slow that he wasn't going to make the 6 hour marathon cutoff, but I think it would have been much more inspirational for Biggest Loser to show him finishing the marathon after the finish line had closed down. I feel that misrepresenting his time gives people the idea that a marathon is easier than it is. He looked too good after the marathon. I lost a bit of respect for what the show tries to accomplish.

I am so glad I am not the only one crying at that show. I am just so darn proud of those people for going on public T.V. and letting people watch them. Like No Way! I also cry when watching Iron Man Hawaii though!

I absolutely love watching the show. And watching them run their half-marathons last week made me want to go out and go running right then, but I had to see how the episode ended. I was watching the episode with my boyfriend who doesn't run, but he appreciates and admires what I do. I did get a bit teary explaining to him the amazing sense of accomplishment you get when you do something like that.

I love the "Biggest Loser". I was very emotional after their 1/2 Marathons. I have lost so much weight with running and Weight Watchers it is so great to see a show the promotes health and fitness. I agree they need to quit calling it a marathon. Anyone who has done both knows the difference between the two is HUGE! I guess I don't know what happened with Dane someone please fill me in. Anyone running OKC in April?
