After 6 weeks of bad run after bad run, I finally have an answer. It turns out I have had an ulcer. Well, that explains a lot!! I was grateful to hear that there was a reason for how I was feeling. The bad news is it is just a waiting game now. I started the medication on Monday and I just have to see how my body responds. The doctor assured me that running wouldn't make it worse so to just keep going and listen to my body.
Today one of my great friends, Marnie, joined me at 5am, in the dark and the rain to run our 12 miler. I won't be able to run tomorrow, so she was willing to come with me today. I had the best run I have had in months!! I felt like an actual runner. :-) My stomach still didn't feel great at the end, but my breathing was great, my heart rate was awesome and I was smiling the entire run.
I am not sure what this means for my goals at Newport, but for now I am just grateful I can enjoy running again. I was starting to wonder if I would ever have a good run again. I am taking it a day at a time, and I loved today!!
Good luck to everyone tomorrow, wherever you are racing or running!!! Thanks again for all your continued support and encouragement.

Yeah! And with 6 weeks until Newport, you're in good shape to peak right in time. I hope the medicine helps. Talk to you soon! I think we shared the same rain this morning.
Congrats girl! I'm glad you're back!
So great to hear it's nothing too serious-- but I'm so sorry! Ouch! I hope it heals quickly! xoxo, Jen
