Going to Alaska -- Where Should I Run?

Are there any Alaskan running moms out there?

What running routes, trails, parks, would you recommend for someone visiting the area, July 22 - 29th? (Anchorage, Juno)

My friend would love the opportunity to explore the beauty of Alaska while wearing her running shoes. I'm sure you can all understand. : )

Thanks in advance for any information.

Thank you, Chelle, for posting this for me! It's actually Anchorage, Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, and Sitka. I'll be in each of those places for a day...

I have visited Anchorage several times and enjoyed the Tony Knowles trail. It is beautiful and well maintained. Anchorage is a great place to run in the summer!

Juneau has a great park around the medinhall glacier. You can't go out onto the glacier anymore but the trail takes you up the side over the top and back down thru the woods. It's a bit steep but has amazing views, have fun!

I will totally vouch that Charity is one of the kindest, nicest people I have ever (not) met. :-) I hope you are able to meet up and I can't wait to hear all about it. Someday I will get to Alaska.

And Charity, Amy is not so bad herself. :-) You guys will have fun together! I am so jealous!
