Attn: Utah Girls. Places to Run and the Park City Marathon

1. I am doing a 20 mile run this weekend and might go insane if I have to run on the Provo River Trail one more time! I desperately need new scenery. So, where else in Utah County/Salt Lake County can I find a trail to do my long run on?????

2. My friend really really really wants to run the Park City Marathon this weekend, but the race is full. Is there anyone else out there who signed up, but now can't run the race???? My friend will buy your bib number from you. Basically we have been training for Top of Utah, but her baby goes into the dr. this monday to find out when she will be having surgery.(so sad) My friend is worried the surgery will take place near the date of TOP and she won't be able to run it. Anyway, let me know if you are looking to sell your spot. I know race directors probably don't smile on this sort of thing, but I feel like this is a special case. :)

Thanks girls!

Have you checked Craigslist?? I have seen race numbers sold on there before. I would look up keyword "Marathon"

Jordan River Pkwy trail. It goes on FOREVER. You can run all the way from Utah Lake to Downtown Salt Lake City near the fairgrounds. If you want a challenge with some hills, City Creek Canyon is beautiful-- it's downtown. The Porter Rockwell Trail is also a fav, and it's in Draper. Good luck!

I was also going to suggest the Jordan River Parkway...The Salt Lake Running Company does teaser runs on the parkway to get ready for TOU and St. George too.

I don't live in Salt Lake or Utah county but I come up to do those sometimes :) I've also heard great things about City Creek Canyon.

The Porter Rockwell Trail is my favorite. It goes from South Mountain to Sandy. It goes along the TRAX train tracks down to 12300 south, and then you have to jog over toward Draper Park, and cross 1300 East, then the trail continues down to South Mountain. It starts somewhere just north of 9000 South. A good place to start is at the Sandy expo center. The trail goes by the northeast corner of the parking lot.

I live right by the Jordan River Trail. It is great, but be aware that it starts and stop with odd detours to get back onto it. Try mapping it out before you get on to find the longest connected area.

Check out favoriterun.com. I have just joined up and posted 3-4 running routes. You can put your zip code in and find local runs mapped by local runners. It's great.

I have done two 18-20 mile runs the past two weekends. I started up AF canyon at Tibble Fork (you could start even higher near Granite Flats or up the loop somewhere). It's about 8 miles from Tibble to the mouth of the canyon. Then, I run down Canyon Rd, thru PG, towards AF, up Alpine Hwy and back to the mouth of the canyon on Highland Hwy. It's a great run. Good marathon training b/c it hits the quads hard.

Does anyone in Utah Valley want to plan a long teaser run in September? We could meet at the mouth of Provo canyon or AF canyon and run together??? I'm training for St. George.

My new favorite run is along the frontage road (techcnially North Temple) out by the Great Salt Lake. You start at 5600 W, just off of I-80 and can go out past Saltaire. It's a really beautiful run and practically zero traffic (besides other runners and bikers). Also, it's flat. You can find the exact directions on mapmyrun.com.

As was stated within the intro, there is nothing at all just like a properly-made glass of top quality espresso. But producing or finding that wonderful mug of coffee is significantly easier in theory.
