Ask and Ye Shall Receive: TOU Marathon Report

I ran TOU for the first time last Sat. It was my 4th marathon. I ran it with my cute sister in law Jana.(Team Hanni) It was her first marathon! The race started out a little hectic with waiting in line for the bathroom and then running to the start, but we were off and we felt great, just cold. Oh, there was a man barking right behind us at the start. I'm still baffled by it. The course was great. I loved running down the canyon. Just when I was getting a little tired of it, we were done with it and had some new scenery. I loved all the cheering people as we were leaving the canyon. Fun. The race just really went great. Jana had a great first marathon, and I felt really good the whole time too. It was so fun to run the race with her!!
The other thing that made this race fun for me was that I was dedicating it to my brother who has enlisted in the army and is leaving in less than a month for basic training. My shirt says "good luck Jeff" on the front and "go army band" on the back. Spectators and runners would ask about my shirt and I was proud to tell them about my brother. :)
Here are some pics.

This is us less than 100 yards from the finish. I'm in the blue looking so happy! We finished in 4 hours 28 minutes.

My neighbor/running buddy ran this race and got 4th place in her division!!! I was so proud of her! I had to pose for a picture with HER moose trophy pretending like it was mine.

The trophy really belongs to her. She is my friend whose baby had surgery on Sep. 8th and we didn't think she would be able to race this marathon. Luckily the baby was doing really great, so she signed up the day before the marathon and ran.

Overall, it was an awesome race day!!! I'm soooooo jealous of all you St. George runners! I want to run it soooooooooo bad!!!!!! Am I crazy or what!

P.S. Tall Girl Running and Candice. I looked for you. I really did. I had your bib numbers written on my arm in sharpie so I would know if it was you or not for sure. Totally bummed. Maybe next time.

P.S.S. My running buddy told me she saw a Marathon Mommies poster. Was that one of you ladies out there cheering us on???

Wow, I totally did NOT look that happy coming down the final stretch. You so rock!

I looked for you too... specifically the camo skirt. I think I saw every other kind/color skirt except a camo one. :-)

Congratulations on a great race!
