Girdle? --Baby Belly "????"


OK Ladies.... this might be a bit of a different post ... but I would love to hear your opinions--ideas.....

(please note the photo to the side is Cindy Crawford... click on the image to go to the article about her and her baby belly... to me.. its actually inspiring! to think I could actually do a bikini even though my belly is baby bellish )

I have three wonderful children... all three of whom were very big at birth :) my last child was just a tad under 10lbs.......I also had two c-sections. One was an emergency and my scar is vertical, my second c-section was planned and that scar is horizontal.

I have lost close to 50lbs over the past few years.. I am now leaner and more fit than I have ever been in my life. As a result of my loosing fat and gaining muscle... my baby belly has just become more and more saggie... almost like a little drape of skin .......

So.. what does this have to do with running marathons? Well.. I am wanting to buy some kind of compression short to run in that will focus mainly on helping my baby belly stay in place instead of bouncing up and down while I run. I have some regular spandex shorts but these don't have enough support for what i am wanting. I also want something to wear until my jeans etc everyday...

I have looked on line and the options are endless....

I would love to hear your ideas and if you have any product you would suggest.

I am NOT going to get a tummy tuck... it scars me to even think about it. The pain I went through with the 2 c-sections was enough for me and I just don't think i could ever go under the knife.... I am, however, a fan of keeping my belly nicely tucked away for the most part with some other means :)....

Oh my goodness!! I have thought the same thing!! I try to buy running pants with a high waist band to hold it all in but I can still feel it. At the last running expo I went to I tried to find something..to no avail.
BTW, Fantastic to see a REAL pic of Cindy Crawford...maybe I will get that bikini!

I am lucky enough to have inherited my Mother's body. After three babies, I still have a pooch but no extra skin. I would however, like to find something for my lovely saddle bags. Running seems to only have accentuated that "quality" of mine, as my leg muscles have gotten bigger.
Good call, on the tummy tuck. My sister in law had one a couple years ago, and she has a really ugly scar, and she hates it. but she does have a flat tummy.

Thanks for your post...I love it! I have had five kids that were all right around 9lbs. (two of them were closer to 10 lbs). Anyway, my stomach looks exactly like that picture! I'm so glad that she had the confidence to show it-I never dare and don't think I ever will. I've actually been told that my stomach is really tight underneath the big pouch of skin I have sagging on my stomach-I think I would actually consider a tummy tuck if I didn't have five kids I need to put through college :)
I haven't found anything super great to wear when running for my stomach-I just make sure that I safety pin my top to my shorts when I run in public-just to make sure that no one ever see's my awesome stomach:) Anyway-good luck on finding a solution!

I have two kids just shy of 10lbs each. After each birth I wore the grandma underwear with controlled tops to control the baby belly. Also a physio in the hospital gave me some stretchy tubular material that I wore as sort of a girdle. I hated the bounce and the feel of the movement. Exercise over time has made everything go back to where it should be. I would try controlled briefs, and I wish I could think of the name for this tubular mesh stuff the physio gave to me.... good luck!

I feel your pain! I'm not sure if it would work for running or not, but you could always try spanx. I like them for under jeans and stuff. Good luck finding something! If you find something you like let us know. :)
