I've been watching the forecast and super hot temperatures all across the country. What a scorcher it is out there for nearly everyone! Is it hot where you run? What changes, if any, do you make to your routine to avoid the high temps?
YES it's been super hot here in the DC area. However, since I'm about nine days away from delivery, I haven't been running. However, had I not been pregnant in this weather, I'm still not sure I would have run. The heat index (even at 6 a.m.!) has been in the 90s, which is just too much for me. Thank goodness I have a good "no running" excuse.
I'm fortunate to live 2 miles from the beach in southern California. It's a comfy 65-75* all year long. It can be muggy but even those days are far and few. This morning it was low 60s for a quick run up and down hwy 101. I cannot complain. :)
Great excuse to not be running in those temps, Erin! However, being pregnant (and that far along!) in those temps can't be much fun either. Stay safe and cool!
25.46 miles. It's a scorcher here in Utah so I didn't get as many miles in as I would like...but I'll take what I got!!!! Here's hoping we all cool down soon!!!!!! visit me @ http://notyouraveragerunningmom.blogspot.com/
32 miles. Last winter, I finally came to terms with running on a treadmill. Since then, the weather can only interfere with a run if it causes a power outage. I prefer running outside, but I take what I can get.
