Carlsbad Half Marathon

I ran the Carlsbad Half Marathon (Calif.) last weekend.  It was so much fun and definitely a favorite race event for me!  I've run the Half twice and the Marathon once - both are incredible races.  It's my hometown so I know the course like the back of my hand and having my family and friends along the course was awesome.  It's an out and back along Pacific Coast Highway so I got to see my cheerleaders twice!  Every other runner I know was also out there running today -- from my super speedy brother-in-law (he's a 24 year old Marine who ran the half in 1:30) to friends who were running their very first event EVER.  It was an awesome day.  The weather was perfect and you just can't beat Carlsbad.  Not a PR for me in the Half Marathon distance, but a faster time for this event which always feels great.  My race report is brief but on my blog if you're curious.  I've been slacking on that site but hope to have my race report for CIM from last month on there soon, too.
