Training in South Korea

I've always thought that if I'm going to die (and we all are right) I'd like to go in my sleep. After running in South Korea for the past three month, I'm afraid I may forget dying in my sleep, I'm going to die as road kill!

Running on the streets of South Korea is like running with a death wish. Just days ago while running a 17-miler along the highway I came within inches of seeing my own guts strewn across the pavement. I assure you I was not playing chicken. I hugged that 6-inch shoulder as close as I could. Unfortunately the cars on the road had that same idea in mind. I have never been pushed off the road so many times in my life!

South Koreans show no mercy, no mercy at all.

I can't wait to get back to the States where there is a universal known truth and courtesy called "Share The Road". Count your blessing ladies and in the meantime think happy thoughts for me. I need to make it to the Death Valley Marathon in one piece.

Oh my gosh, be careful Annie! I'll think of you the next time I go running.

Be careful!!! I got hit by a car pushing my baby in a stroller in Seoul 17 years ago. We crossed with the light, looked both ways, and a car that HAD STOPPED just started through the intersection without looking. But I hope you love Seoul as much as I did. What a vibrant, dynamic culture! The unbelievably green countryside, exciting city, brightly colored temples. Is the scaffolding still bamboo?
