Ready to Go Again?

Ready or not, here it comes! I just signed up for the Newport Marathon. It takes place on May 30th. This means I have 20 weeks until the big day. Last year was such a disappointment after working so hard and then NOT qualifying for Boston, butI learned so much about myself and I enjoyed training with friends and virtual friends! So, my goal of course is to attempt to qualify again. I am nervous, but excited. I have a great group of running partners, and that makes all the difference. I have all of you and your experiences to keep me going each day. I was asked last night what motivates me to get up in the morning to run, and I said that NOT exercising is NOT an option for me. So, if not in the morning, when? I would much rather run with awesome friends and get some chatting in, than run on the treadmill by myself. The accountability is great! So, here's to another training cycle! I look forward to hearing from all of you!

My run today was a beautiful, hilly course on the back roads of our little town. There were 7 of us, men and women, all different abilities. I love getting to know the other runners. It was very foggy, which made it nice to not see the hills! It was a great start to this training. Hopefully this run will get easier for me as I add more mileage. Let's do this!

Wow, it is great to hear from all of you! Thanks for the support.

Amy- I am so glad you are running Newport! We will definitely be hooking up.

Jen and Ang- Thanks for always giving your vote of confidence. I am looking forward to following your training for Salt Lake!!

Kera- I will email you more info. I think you would LOVE Newport! We are making a family trip of it and staying in a friends time share. There are plenty of places to stay at the coast. It would be a great family vacation! (Bring grandma with you to watch kids!!)

Tiff- Thanks!!

Kim- Of course I remember you! I followed you at the Ogden Marathon for a couple of miles (then you smoked me!) and we ran in the Flat Half together and then that run in the crazy hills of our town. I am glad you are coming out for this race, and I am excited to finally train with Marnie after 4 years of having babies alternate years.

JP- I will be rooting for you too!! Let me know which marathon you choose.

Steph- Congrats on the pregnancy! I was wondering if that announcement would come soon. YOu know I would love to join you at Boston 2010. We will see...
