Not interested in running toward the light

Sometimes when I run I see a strobing white circular light in front of my face.  It is pretty faint and goes away after I cool down.  It is also very inconsistent.  It happened a couple of times on longer runs (10+ miles) many years ago, but is happening more regularly now and on runs that are 5ish miles.

I read some information suggesting that it could be some kind of migraine, but I don't have a headache or anything.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I have only experienced a few migraines, and I had the similar bright light that you were describing before the onset of a headache. are you well hydrated before/during your run? my very uneducated thought is it could be that blood is not flowing properly to your brain when you're running, and more fluids could help? sorry I don't know for sure.

http://www.webanswers.com/health/optical/sometimes-i-see-flashes-of-white-in-front-of-my-eyes-eae11e

" It can be due to retinal detachment, which can cause permanent loss of vision. Seek an ophthalmologist right away. It is your vision...that is something you can not get back. I waited so long ignoring the flashes and or floaters, that I started getting bad headaches and even my eye balls started hurting. Then came the blurry visions and the emergency room."

I read somewhere a long time ago abut running induced headaches and I don't think they are anything to ignore. So I'd go see someone about this just to be safe. Wish I could remember more about what I read, sorry.

I used to get that all the time when I was pregnant and they told me it was not enough protein. Just a thought.
