An inline double jogger? Or am I just dreaming?

My second child is set to arrive in early August (although I wouldn't complain if he decided a July birth suited him better). In preparation, my husband and I recently purchased a Chariot jogging stroller/bike trailer. I love it...in theory. However, getting that thing in my small, 1950s home is a challenge! It can't leave the front room given its width. And I am not down with a jogging stroller permanently set up in my front room. (No garage and a very humid climate means no leaving this outside.)

I am guessing this is not just a problem with Chariot; rather, it's a problem with all double strollers. So my question for everyone is, have you ever seen a double jogging stroller that is more "inline" rather than side-by-side? You know, sort of like the fancy Phil & Ted strollers, but ones for running?

A Mommy Has a Question!

Jennifer emailed me with a question for the Marathon Mommies! Does anyone have an answer for her?

I actually have a question that I would love some help with from the other mommies on the blog. I have a 22 month-old boy and I am due with my second child in a couple of weeks. I am so excited to get out and run again! I have a baby jogger q series stroller right now, which I have LOVED with my son. I ran tons with it, so I loved having the locked front wheel. In my search for a double jogger, I am wondering how models with swivel front wheels that lock work when you are actually running. Does the lock work well for a smooth run, or does it cause problems? Which brands do the other mommies recommend? Thank you so much for your help!

Sincerely,
Jennifer
Good for you for getting out with the kids for a run! A lot of moms know that is a good (difficult!) workout.

Jogging Strollers: A Question

We received a question from "Chicklet" about jogging strollers:

I know last year you posted a question on this, but I'm wondering if anybody's opinions have changed, or anybody's bought a stroller recently that they love. I'm 5 months pregnant and debating between the Bob and the Chariot. The problem is both get great reviews everywhere, but I don't know that these reviews come from real runners or just people who take a casual jog/walk once in awhile? I'd like real runners' opinions? I lean towards the Chariot as it has all the features I want, but the size of it really freaks me out that I'll grow to hate my decision as it'll always be too hard to deal with (storage, getting in/out the house/car). I don't however want to buy a halfass jogging stroller that's not REALLY a jogger, and then end up hating that it doesn't run well when the Chariot would have? Thank you.

How Do You Know...

when your child is ready for the jogging stroller??? My husband's schedule has become more crazy and I'd love to just get out while he's at work. My son is almost seven months old, but when set into the stroller, he kind of slumps over.

If I decide to take him out anyway, what should he be wearing? Mornings are starting to be in the 50s or even 40s. How can I make sure he's warm?

Gina's First Post

This, my first post, is dedicated to my dear Marathon Mommy friend Brittany who ran 10 miles last Saturday with a jogging stroller because her husband babysitter (who shall remain nameless) went fishing. A lesser woman (me) would have thrown in the towel. Britt, you rock.

Things I need for a weekday run: running shoes, water, i pod, double jogging stroller, make-shift-dish-towel-sun-visor, 2 clothespins for aforementioned make-shift-sun-visor, homemade stroller cover (too cheap to buy the real thing), special blanket, sippy cup with chocolate milk, granola bar, fruit leather, string cheese, Elmo doll, and baby doll, 3 imaginary friends and associated imaginary gear for imaginary needs of previously mentioned imaginary friends, baby toys, giant pretzel for teething baby, 50 lbs. of children to push.

Things I need for a weekend run: running shoes, water, i pod.

Thank heaven for supportive husbands/families…even if they do flake on us once in awhile. Thanks for letting me be a part of this blog.
